Compatibility: Item number 000891 is the standard drive socket that is used for ALLl Vitamix® COMMERCIAL products, except the XL machine. The Vitamix XL uses drive socket that we do not have access to. Also fits ALL standard DOMESTIC household Vitamix blender models except for the compact Vitamix S30.
Function: This is a crucial replacement part that links your blender's motor to the blade assembly. It is specifically engineered to slip or break if the blades get stuck, which protects the expensive motor from burning out.
Design: Features a 1/4-inch square hole on the bottom to fit the motor shaft and a 12-pin spline design on top.
What is in the box: The kit comes with 1 drive socket, a matching Allen key (wrench), and instructions.
When does this part need to be replaced? Vitamix recommends visually inspecting the teeth of your drive socket every 3 to 4 months to make sure they are sharp and not worn down or have cracks or splits or small plastic shavings appear which may suggest immediate replacement is requried.
