How to change a dryer belt

• Unplug the dryer or turn off its electrical supply to ensure your safety.
• Locate and remove the dryer's front panel. This may involve removing screws or releasing spring clips. Refer to your dryer's user manual for specific instructions.
• Once the front panel is removed, you should have access to the dryer's drum. Take note of the belt's configuration and how it wraps around the drum and motor pulley.
• Release the tension on the belt by pulling on the idler pulley or releasing the tension bracket. This will loosen the belt and allow you to remove it from the drum and motor pulley.
• Remove the old belt from the dryer by carefully sliding it off the drum and pulleys. Be cautious not to damage any other components or wiring during this process.
• Install the new dryer belt by placing it around the drum in the same configuration as the old belt. Ensure that the belt is positioned correctly and sits on the drum without any twists or misalignment.
• Route the belt around the motor pulley and the idler pulley or tension bracket, following the same path as the previous belt. Make sure the belt is properly seated on all the pulleys.
• Apply tension to the belt by pulling on the idler pulley or re-engaging the tension bracket. This will ensure the belt is tight and properly connected.
• Rotate the drum manually to ensure the belt is properly aligned and seated. Make sure it moves smoothly without any obstructions or misalignment.
• Reattach the dryer's front panel, securing it with screws or engaging the spring clips, depending on your dryer model.
• Plug in the dryer or restore its electrical supply. Test the dryer to ensure the new belt is functioning correctly and the drum is spinning smoothly.
