The metal filter, pre-filter (green, washable) and fine dust filter in the handstick can all be removed and washed in water to clean dirt away.

Recommended filter cleaning guidelines

• LG recommends cleaning pre-filters every 2-4 weeks depending on usage for best cleaning performance.
• Clean the fine dust filter every 2-3 months under normal use.
• The exhaust filter generally requires less frequent cleaning. Check the exhaust filter every 6 months and clean it if necessary.
• Most models have a filter cleaning icon that lights up, indicating when the exhaust filter and pre-filter needs cleaning.

Cleaning your pre-filter green (washable) and exhaust filter

• Remove pre-filter by turning the outer exhaust filter counter clockwise to remove it. Lift out the pre-filter by the handle.
• Clean the motor using the brush attachment to clean off the motor inside the filter compartment. Use a brush only, do not use any water.
• Clean the exhaust filter with a brush or running water. Allow the exhaust filter to completely dry by reinstalling the filter. We recommend waiting 24 hours.
• Wash and dry filter by cleaning the pre-filter with a brush and running water.
• Reassemble all filters once they are clean and dry. Start with the pre-filter first. Then align the exhaust filter with the hollow circle at the top and turn the filter clockwise until the solid white circles align.
• Lastly empty and clean the dustbin and remove and give the cyclonic mesh filter a clean also.

Caution! Do not use your vacuum cleaner without the exhaust filter and pre-filter installed. Doing so could result in appliance damage.

Replacing your filters

Pre-filters and fine dust filters should be replaced every 6-12 months or sooner if they are damaged or excessively dirty. Your exhaust filter should be replaced approximately every 6-12 months  under normal usage conditions.

How to install your replacement filters
