Easy Laundry Routine: Tips for Sorting, Prepping & Washing

How do you tackle laundry day? Do you take a relaxed, haphazard approach, tossing clothes in the washer when your laundry basket is overflowing or do you tackle it with military-style precision, sorting, prepping, and washing like a pro? Regardless of your approach, mastering the art of laundry is essential for maintaining clean clothes and a clutter-free home. We share an easy laundry routine with tips for sorting, prepping and washing to make your laundry day a breeze! Step 1: Sorting your laundry The first step to a successful laundry routine is sorting. Sorting your laundry not only helps to preserve the quality of your clothes but also ensures the best cleaning results and streamlines the washing process. Separate by colour: Divide your clothes into whites, lights and darks to prevent colours from bleeding onto each other. Sort by fabric type: Delicate fabrics like silk and wool should be washed separately from heavier fabrics like denim or towels to avoid damage during the washing process. Check care labels: Pay attention to the care instructions on your clothing tags to determine the appropriate wash cycle and water temperature. Tackling a supersized laundry pile If you are dealing with a family size laundry pile, you can sort your clothes into groups first: Everyday laundry – cotton and durable synthetics like T-Shirts, underwear and socks Sheets, towels and bedding Activewear & swimwear Denim Delicate fabrics Items that are heavily soiled Be sure to separate each group by colour – white, lights and darks. Laundry sorting tips and tricks To streamline the sorting process, invest in multiple laundry baskets or bins designated for different loads. You can even buy hampers with built in dividers. Label each basket accordingly (e.g., lights, darks, delicates) to make sorting more efficient and organised. Keep stain removal pre-treatments by the clothes baskets so items can be treated ahead of time. Turn dark coloured garments inside out before washing. This reduces friction when washing and helps to reduce fading when drying in the sun. For small or delicate items like socks, lingerie, or baby clothes, consider using mesh laundry bags to keep them contained and protected during the wash cycle. Step 2: Prepping your laundry Check for stains: Before loading clothes into the washing machine, inspect them for any stains and treat them with a stain remover. Empty pockets: Before washing, be sure to check pockets for any loose items like coins, keys or tissues that could damage your clothes or washing machine. Close zippers and fasten buttons: Zip up zippers and fasten buttons to prevent snagging and damage to other garments in the load. Unroll sleeves and pant legs: Ensure sleeves and pant legs are unrolled to allow for thorough cleaning and prevent wrinkles. Step 3: Washing your laundry Now that your laundry is sorted and prepped, it's time to tackle the washing process Select your laundry detergent: Choose a detergent suitable for your laundry needs. Use laundry powder for heavily soiled or stained clothes, as it is more effective at removing tough stains and odours. Use laundry liquid for delicate fabrics or clothes that require a gentle cycle, as it is less likely to damage these types of fabrics. Load size: Use the recommended amount of detergent for the size of your load. Overloading the machine can cause the detergent to be less effective and can lead to other problems like excess suds. Use the right amount of laundry detergent: Too much detergent can leave residue on your clothes, while too little may result in insufficient cleaning. Follow the recommended dosage on the detergent packaging and adjust based on load size and soil level. Choose the right water temperature: Different fabrics require different water temperatures for the best cleaning results. Use cold water for delicate items and hot water for heavily soiled garments, while warm water is suitable for most everyday laundry. Choose the correct cycle: Select the appropriate wash cycle based on the fabric type and soil level of your laundry. Most washing machines offer a variety of cycles, including normal, gentle and heavy-duty.  Use the short wash cycle for items that need a light freshening up. It will get the job done and save on water and energy use. Handy hint! Managing multiple loads of laundry can be quite time-consuming. To make laundry day more manageable, consider breaking it down into specific tasks. Designate separate days for washing different types of items, such as sheets and towels on one day, kids' clothes on another, and everyday laundry on yet another day. This approach prevents the laundry workload from becoming overwhelming and allows you to focus on each category more efficiently. Washing machine maintenance tips To keep your washing machine running smoothly and efficiently, regular maintenance is key. Here are some maintenance and repair tips to extend the lifespan of your machine: Clean your washing machine regularly Sanitise and deep clean your washer: For top load washing machine, set your machine at its hottest and longest setting. When it has filled up with water, add 2 cups vinegar and 1/2 cup baking soda. Let it run for a complete cycle. For front load washing machine, add 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda into the detergent drawer and ½ cup white vinegar into the drum. Let it run for a complete cycle on the hottest setting. Clean the detergent and softener dispenser trays: Trays need to be regularly cleaned to eliminate bacteria and grime. Simply remove and clean with warm soapy water. Use an old toothbrush to clean any hard-to-reach corners. Clean the outside of the machine: Using a soft, damp cleaning cloth, wipe the exterior with an all-purpose cleaner. We recommend Aktivo All Purpose cleaner – an eco-friendly cleaner that is tough, with a gentle and non-toxic formula. Wipe down the drum, door and gasket: Give the seals a thorough clean with a toothbrush or soft bristled sponge. Water, dirt, and grime can get trapped in the seal’s folds, leaving a musty smell or cause mould or mildew to grow.  Check the seals for any damage, splits or cracks. Descale your washing machine From time-to-time limescale can start to build up, particularly if you have hard water. Limescale can reduce the efficiency of your washing machine. To descale your machine use Aktivo Dishwasher + Washing Machine Descaler – just add to your machine as per the instructions. This will help remove unwanted odours and thoroughly cleanse your washing machine. Don't forget your lint filter If your washer has a removable lint filter/trap, you can give this a good clean. For front loaders, locate the small access door at the front. Place a towel underneath. Turn the filter counter-clockwise to remove it. Let water drain into a bowl. Rinse the filter under hot water and use a brush to remove particles. Reinstall and lock the filter before closing the door. For top loaders, consult your manual to find the lint trap. It's usually along the top rim or inside the agitator. Remove, clean with hot soapy water, scrub with a brush, then reinstall. Inspect your washer Inspect hoses and connections: Check hoses and connections for any signs of leaks, cracks, or damage. Replace worn hoses or connections to prevent water damage to your home and prolong the life of your machine. Check for leveling: Make sure your washing machine is level and stable. If it wobbles or shakes during operation, adjust the feet to ensure it sits flat on the ground. If you notice any unusual noises, leaks, or malfunctions, address them promptly to prevent further damage. Consult the manufacturer's manual or seek assistance from a qualified service technician if needed. Tackling laundry day doesn't have to be a difficult or daunting task. By sorting, prepping, and washing your laundry with care, you can ensure clean and fresh clothes every time. Additionally, regular maintenance and timely repairs will keep your washing machine running smoothly for years to come. Expert guide to cleaning and polishing stainless steel appliances

Stainless steel appliances have become a staple in many homes, adding a sleek finish and a modern, sophisticated touch to any space. Whether you have a stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher, or oven, the stunning appearance can quickly lose its lustre without proper care and maintenance. Give your appliances a sparkling clean finish and with our expert guide to cleaning and polishing stainless steel appliances. Why proper care of stainless steel appliances is important Proper care maintains their sleek and modern appearance and aesthetic appeal Regular maintenance prevents rust and corrosion Kitchen appliances, can harbour bacteria, germs, and food residues. Cleaning and disinfecting the surfaces of your appliances reduces the risk of cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses. Stainless steel appliances can show fingerprints, smudges, and stains easily. Regular care and cleaning will remove these marks, keeping your appliances looking pristine. Handy hint! Before using any cleaning method or product, always test it on a small, inconspicuous area to ensure it does not damage or discolour the stainless steel. Cleaning your stainless-steel appliances Start with a gentle cleanser For routine cleaning, dish soap or a mild stainless steel cleaner is all you need. Mix a few drops of dish soap with warm water in a bowl. Dampen a microfibre cloth or soft sponge in the soapy solution, wring it out, and gently wipe the surface of your appliance. Ensure you follow the grain of the steel, which is typically a brushed or polished pattern. Remove tough stains To tackle tough and stubborn stains, try Aktivo Stainless Steel Cooktop Cleaner. This can be used on a variety of surfaces including cooktops, sinks and tapware. The non-toxic formula can remove the toughest of stains without scratching or damaging the surface. Natural solutions There are a number of natural alternatives that can also remove tough stains effectively. These include: White vinegar White vinegar is a versatile and effective solution for tackling stubborn stains and fingerprints. Moisten a cloth with vinegar and gently rub the stained area in the direction of the grain. Avoid using abrasive materials like steel wool, as they can scratch the surface. Rinse the area with water and wipe it dry with a clean cloth. Baking soda Baking soda is a gentle abrasive that can effectively clean the most stubborn stains. First, create a paste by mixing baking soda with water until it forms a thick consistency. Then apply the paste to the affected areas, scrub gently with a soft cloth or sponge, and rinse with water. Lemon Juice Cut a lemon in half and use the cut side to rub the surface of your stainless-steel appliances. The citric acid in lemon juice helps to dissolve grease and stains, leaving a fresh scent and a brightened appearance. Rinse the appliance with water afterward and dry it thoroughly. Restore the shine Over time, stainless steel can lose its lustre. To restore its shine, we recommend Aktivo Stainless Steel Polish.  Just apply to apply to a dry, lint free cloth and wipe lightly in the direction of the grain. The polish will not only remove finger print marks, water spots and smears, it will leave a transparent film that protects against marks re-appearing. Alternatively, you can apply a small amount of olive oil or mineral oil on a cloth and rub it onto the surface of your appliances to enhance the shine.   Stainless steel cleaning tips Keep your stainless steel appliances clean, fingerprint and smear free with these handy tips: Regular cleaning Wipe down your stainless steel appliances regularly with a soft cloth or sponge dampened with water to remove dust, dirt, and fingerprints. This simple step can help maintain their appearance and prevent the buildup of grime. Follow the grain When cleaning or polishing stainless steel, always wipe or scrub along the grain of the steel. Following the grain helps to prevent streaks and maintain the natural pattern of the stainless steel. Avoid abrasive materials Do not use abrasive materials such as harsh scrub brushes, or scouring pads on stainless steel appliances as these can scratch and damage the surface. Opt for soft cloths, microfiber cloths, or non-abrasive sponges instead. Be mindful of harsh chemicals Avoid using harsh chemicals, bleach, or abrasive cleaners on stainless steel appliances, as they can strip away the protective layer and cause discoloration. Stick to mild dish soap, vinegar, or products formulated for stainless steel appliances Test area Before applying any cleaning product or method to your appliances, test it in a small, inconspicuous area first. This will help ensure that it does not cause any damage or discoloration. Remove stains promptly If you notice any stains, spills, or fingerprints on your appliances, clean them promptly. The longer stains sit, the harder they can be to remove. Use gentle cleaners and a soft cloth to tackle any stubborn marks. Dry thoroughly After cleaning, make sure to dry your appliances thoroughly with a clean, lint-free cloth. Water spots or mineral deposits can leave marks on the surface if left to air dry. Gentle cleaning works best Do not apply excessive force when cleaning your appliances. Gentle, consistent cleaning motions are usually sufficient. Using too much force can lead to scratches or damage to the surface. Use oil for shine To enhance the shine of your stainless steel appliances, you can apply a small amount of olive oil or mineral oil on a cloth and rub it onto the surface. This can help restore and maintain a glossy appearance. Regular cleaning and proper care will ensure your stainless steel appliances remain in great condition, maintaining their beautiful appearance and durability for years to come. The ultimate guide to spring cleaning your home appliances

Now that the winter season is behind us, it’s time to start thinking about spring cleaning your home appliances. When we think about spring cleaning, we often think about tasks such as scrubbing our floors and making all the surfaces of our home sparkle. Its easy to forget our trusty, household appliances that get a good workout throughout the year! With regular maintenance and care we can increase the lifespan of our appliances and keep them working at their best.  We share our ultimate guide to spring cleaning your home appliances. Kitchen appliances cleaning checklist Refrigerator A refrigerator is a great place to start. Give your fridge and freezer a thorough clean. Start by removing all items and getting rid of expired products. Remove and hand wash your refrigerator shelves, wire racks and drawers in warm soapy water. Tackle stubborn food spills with a non-abrasive scrubber. Spray and wipe the interior of your fridge with a gentle and non-toxic All Purpose Cleaner. Clean and inspect your fridge and freezer door seal A dirty, worn or damaged seal/gasket can cause the temperature in your refrigerator to fluctuate. Door seals can often be caked with grime and tiny food particles. Clean your seals with warm, soapy water and a soft bristled brush before drying with a soft cloth. Next, inspect your seal for signs of wear and tear. Damaged seals should be replaced. Clean the refrigerator coils Over time, dust and dirt accumulate on your refrigerator coils (these are also called condenser coils). These coils are responsible for the heat extraction process that allows the refrigerant to circulate. To reduce your energy bill and extend the lifespan of your fridge, give the coils a regular clean. Before you start, switch off the power supply. . Your fridge coils may be located at the rear of your refrigerator (on the outside), underneath the fridge or inside the fridge behind a panel. Once located, use a brush (or coil brush) to remove lint build up, dirt and dust. You can make this job even easier with a small nozzle vacuum that will suck up residue before plugging your refrigerator back in. Replace your fridge water filter We know that changing your fridge water filter regularly (every 6 months) reduces nasties and contaminants like iron, particulates, lead and mercury in your drinking water and ice cubes. During the colder months, water consumption can sometimes be lower and we tend to put off this task. If it has been a while since you changed your filter, your replacement light has been neglected for too long, or your water has an unpleasant taste or odour, it’s time to install your replacement. Statewide offer genuine fridge water filters for LG, Samsung, Fisher & Paykel and all leading brands. Changing a water filter can be done in minutes. Check out our step by step guide to replacing your LG fridge water filter or check out our video guides on our YouTube channel. Give your stainless steel refrigerator some added shine Refrigerator doors are prone to fingerprints and smears. A spray of stainless steel polish will remove these and leave a transparent film to protect against marks re-appearing. Take the time to tackle other stainless steel surfaces in your kitchen. Spray and wipe on your oven, rangehood and toaster too! Oven & Cooktop appliances Tackle this hardworking powerhouse with a little elbow grease and our easy tips. Give your oven a thorough clean Cleaning a dirty oven is a must. There is nothing worse than opening an oven door to find grease splatters and stuck on food particles. This daunting task can be handled with ease. Check out our guide to cleaning your oven naturally. Remove built up grime on your oven door Grime and residue can quickly build up on your oven door. A gentle scrub with a microfibre cloth and a tough-on-stains cleaner is a great way to start. For tougher stains on the inside of your oven door, you may need to use a natural cleaning solution made up of baking soda and a small amount of water. Mix until it forms a paste and apply generously. Leave overnight and then wipe clean with a damp cloth to lift away any residue. If you find that grime is still stuck in the middle of your door, you will need to get out the tools and remove the door to give the glass a good clean. Our easy guide shows you how. Cleaning your oven door seal Just like your refrigerator, your oven door seal plays a vital role. Start by cleaning your seal thoroughly with a sponge and warm, soapy water. If your seal is damaged, your oven will use more energy and your oven temperature will be impacted, causing unreliable cooking results. Replacing a door seal only requires a few tools and a little know how. Check your oven elements If you have noticed your oven elements aren’t glowing bright orange when fully heated, or your food is taking longer to cook, it could be a sign that you need to replace your oven element. Now is a good time to test each element and replace if required. Change your oven globe Yes this is an easy one but it is surprising how often this simple task is neglected! A well-lit oven means less time opening the door to check if your food is cooked (which also lets the heat out and amps up your energy costs!). Install a replacement globe that is designed specifically for ovens and ensure the wattage and cap fitting are the same as your existing globe. Take the guesswork out of changing your oven globe with our step by step guide. Gas cooktop Clean your gas stove burners Give your gas stove burners some extra attention with a deep clean. Start by removing the grates and burners from your cooktop and wipe away any debris. Next, soak the burner heads, caps and gas stove grates in dishwashing soap and water. Leave to soak for at least 20 mins before scrubbing with a soft brush. Next, clean your gas stovetop with a few drops of dishwashing detergent and a sponge before wiping away any excess residue. Your parts need to be completely dry before you reassemble your burners and grates. Rangehood Clean your rangehood filters Dare we ask when was the last time you cleaned your rangehood filters? If you take a close look, you will see a build-up of dirt, grease and grime that will have you reaching for the rubber gloves and detergent in no time! Get the job done, with a little effort in less than 5 steps. Short on time? Take our much-loved shortcut and pop your aluminium or stainless-steel filters in the dishwasher and run through a hot cycle. The steam will loosen particles and debris and the water spray will get into those tiny nooks for a sparkling clean. Change your rangehood globe While you are giving your rangehood some extra attention, be sure to wipe the exterior and interior with a soft cloth and warm, soapy water. If you find your rangehood globe is blown, now is a good time to change it.  Dishwasher Deep clean your dishwasher You rely on our dishwasher daily to give our dishes a sparkling clean. Time to return the favour and give your dishwasher a deep clean. Start by removing any racks and trays and giving them a good soak in hot, soapy water. Next check the spray arms to make sure they are not clogged with any food or debris. You can remove the spray arms and run them under hot water while giving them a light scrub. A thin wire can help you dislodge any debris from the spray arm holes. Remove your filter (located below the racks and attached with a twist cap). Rinse thoroughly under hot water. Use a soft bristled brush, detergent and warm water to remove any trapped particles. Give your dishwasher a thorough clean with a vinegar cycle. Wipe the interior of your unit and the door seal with warm soapy water and a sponge. Add 2 cups white vinegar to your dishwasher, then run a full hot water cycle. Check your dishwasher door seal Grab your sponge and warm soapy water and wipe down your dishwasher door seal. If you have noticed that your dishwasher has been leaking, do inspect your seal for any signs of wear and tear and replace a cracked or damaged seal. Coffee Machine Avoid built up oils and deposits that can affect the flavour of your coffee by cleaning your machine regularly. After every use, wipe down and purge the milk frothing wand and wipe exposed surfaces with a soft damp cloth.  For a deeper clean, soak all removable parts in warm soapy water and allow to completely air dry and use a brush to remove any loose grounds. Descale your coffee machine For a deep clean, descale your coffee machine. This will improve the efficiency of your machine by removing scales from thermos blocks and steam valves Recommended cleaning products for your kitchen appliances Aktivo All Purpose Cleaner – Eco friendly, gentle on surfaces and tough on stains Aktivo Fridge Cleaner & Deodoriser – Eliminates germs and bacteria Selleys Oven Plus Cleaner – Heavy duty gel that provides a fast and powerful clean. For front load washing machine, add 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda into the detergent drawer and ½ cup white vinegar into the drum. Let it run for a complete cycle on the hottest setting. Descale your washer If you live in a hard water area, you may find that limescale can start to build up and reduce the efficiency of your washing machine. To descale your machine use Aktivo Dishwasher + Washing Machine Descaler – just add to your machine as per the instructions. This will help remove unwanted odours and thoroughly cleanse your washing machine. Clean the dispenser on a front loader Remove the dispenser drawer and rinse clean under clean, warm water. After your wipe it clean, replace the dispenser. Dryer With the warm sunny weather approaching, your dryer is due for a well-deserved break! Give the exterior of your dryer a clean with a soft damp cloth.  You can use an all purpose cleaner to remove dirt, grime and build up. Don’t forget the knobs and buttons, which can accumulate dirt and bacteria. Clean the lint filter For safe and effective dryer operation, clean the lint filter after each and every use. If lint is left trapped in the dryer, your motor is forced to work harder. Clean your dryer door seal Give the dryer seal a clean with a soft cloth and warm, soapy water. Worn out, cracked seals will impact the air temperature in your dryer. This in turn, can impact drying time. Check the seals and replace if required. Recommended cleaning products for your laundry appliances Aktivo Dishwasher/Washer Descaler – For effective grime and limescale removal Other home appliances cleaning checklist Vacuum cleaner Your vacuum cleaner is undoubtedly your best friend during spring cleaning time, so your need to give it extra care to run efficiently. If your vacuum cleaner has lost suction power, try our troubleshooting tips. Clean the canister Unplug the vacuum cleaner and remove the canister. Wipe dust and build up with a soft microfibre cloth. Then, rinse in warm soapy water and leave to air dry completely before replacing it. Clean the vacuum cleaner filter Start by removing the vacuum cleaner filter and tapping it against a hard surface to remove excess dust. Next, rinse thoroughly under running water. Before replacing your filter in the vacuum cleaner, allow it to completely air dry. Check your dustbag When your vacuum cleaner dustbag is full, or even has a slight tear, there will be a loss of suction and your vacuum cleaner will perform poorly. Change your vacuum cleaner bag to maintain your vacuum’s cleaning performance. Air Conditioner With regular and consistent use, dust accumulates on the air conditioning filter. Air flow and performance can be restricted if left unchecked and dirty. Cleaning your filter means better energy efficiency and much cleaner air for your home. Clean your filters by removing excess dust, grime and debris with a vacuum cleaner. Next wash your filters in warm soapy water. For an extra deep clean these can be soaked in a solution of 1 part vinegar to 5 parts water. Allow to completely dry before replacing them . Fridge cleaning tips that work

A sparkling clean refrigerator is the key to increasing the lifespan of your fridge and keeping your food fresh for longer. Tackle the task of cleaning your fridge with our proven fridge cleaning tips that work.  All you need is a few basic cleaning supplies; a little elbow grease and you are ready for a good fridge clear out and deep clean. What you will need: Garbage bags Rubber gloves Non scratch sponges, paper towels, microfibre cloths Cleaning products including baking soda, dishwashing soap, fridge cleaner & deodoriser and stainless steel polish Start by emptying out your fridge A handy tip is to plan your deep fridge cleaning before the weekly shop. That way, there will be less items to remove. Before you start, place perishables such as dairy and meat in a refrigerated cooler bag with ice. This will keep them cool.  Grab your garbage bag and bin any food or condiments that have passed their expiry date. Wipe down the exterior of jars and bottles to remove any sticky drips. Remove refrigerator shelves and drawers Hand wash all removable refrigerator shelves and drawers with warm water and dishwashing detergent. Prior to washing, it is a good idea to let any glass components warm to room temperature. This helps to avoid any shattering when in contact with warm water. Once clean, rinse and allow to air dry completely. Now is a good time to soak any empty storage containers in a sink filled with dishwashing soap and warm water. Tackle the interior Using a non-scratch sponge and a solution of 1 part baking soda to 6 parts water, wipe down the interior, paying attention to grooves on the side of the fridge, crevices and hinges. You may need an old toothbrush or cotton bud to tackle small, hard-to-get-to spots.  You can also use a food safe cleaner such as Aktivo Fridge Cleaner & Deodoriser – an effective all in one spray that cleans, deodorises and sanitises. Once clean, dry the inside of the fridge thoroughly using paper towels or a soft microfibre cloth. Check your fridge door seal Take the time to do a quick check of your fridge door seal. The seal around your refrigerator seals cold air in, so that your food stays fresh and at a safe temperature. Wipe down the seal with warm soapy water and a sponge. Inspect the seal for any signs of damage or wear and tear. A defective fridge door seal can easily be replaced. You can find the right fridge door seal for your fridge here. Change your fridge water filter If your refrigerator has a water or ice dispenser, be sure to change your water filter regularly to reduce common contaminants like iron, particulates, lead and mercury. A clean filter means better tasting water, without any unpleasant odours or nasties. Replace your fridge water filter every 6 months (or when the indicator light comes on). Find out more in our handy guide. Give your condenser coils a thorough clean The life span and performance of your fridge can be impacted by coils that are clogged with debris and dust. To clean your condenser coils, first unplug the fridge from the power source. Using a vacuum with a narrow attachment, vacuum any dust from around the coils. Clean the exterior Use a microfibre cloth to buff the exterior of your fridge and eliminate streaks, fingerprints and any marks. For refrigerators with a stainless-steel finish, use a stainless steel polish  to repel dirt and dust and give a long-lasting shine. Replace your shelves and drawers Your fridge is now sparkling clean. Next step is to replace your shelves and drawers. Maximise space in your fridge by carefully placing your adjustable shelves. Return all food, drinks and condiments to the refrigerator. Take some time to organise your fridge Save time and find what you need easier, with a well organised fridge. Store milk at the back of the bottom shelf where it is the coldest Keep eggs in their original cartons and store in the top or middle shelves where temperature remains most consistent Use the fridge door to store condiments, butter, cheeses and juices Keep children’s snacks at an easy reach for them Use a Lazy Susan or turntable to access frequently used items Label containers and group like items together Save space with can and water bottle dispensers. You can easily stack drinks, while providing easy access Store fruit and vegetables in your fridge crisper drawers Keep herbs fresh longer by placing a bunch in a jar filled with water. Cover loosely with a plastic bag and store in the middle shelf of the fridge Track leftovers by putting an ‘eat by’ date on the container and storing at the front of the shelf Lastly, don’t overload your fridge. Your fridge needs proper air circulation to work. Stack your fridge carefully and ensure items are clear from vents. Keep it fresh Keep your fridge smelling fresh with this tried and tested trick for reducing odours. Just store an unopened box of baking soda in your fridge. It will soak up any odours and leave your fridge smelling clean and fresh. With regular care and maintenance, you can keep your refrigerator clean and running like new.
