How to install your Fisher & Paykel fridge water filter

How often should I change my fridge filter?

• Every 6 months or so. This can also depend on how often your use the water from your refrigerator
• For refrigerator models with a filter change alert, you will need to replace your filter when the light comes on
• Slow water flow may mean there is a build up in the water and an indication that its time for a filter change
• If your water starts to smell or has an unpleasant taste

How to install an external Fisher & Paykel filter

Step 1: External filters are located externally at the rear of the refrigerator. To get started pull your refrigerator out so that you can access your filter.

Step 2: To remove the old filter, hold the base of the filter firmly and pull towards you.

Step 3: Rotate the filter counter clockwise until it releases from the filter head. If the filter is tricky to remove, run water through the filter by dispensing some water.

Step 4: Pull the filter down vertically to remove the filter from the bracket and discard. Note that a small amount of water may drip after you remove the filter. This is normal.

Step 5: Now to install the new filter, remove your filter from the packaging.

Step 7: Align the filter correctly.  Push the filter firmly all the way into the filter head then rotate the filter clockwise 90° until it locks into place. Ensure the filter is fully rotated to allow the water to flow.

Step 8: Push the entire filter back into the bracket.

Step 9: After the installation the filter must be flushed. You can do this by dispensing some water.

How to install an internal filter

Step 1: Internal filters are usually located in the rear of your refrigerator, in the top right corner. You may need to remove your shelf to easily access your filter cover. Once you have located your filter cover, pull the tab at the bottom of the cover towards you to release.

Step 2: Hold the base of the filter firmly and pull towards you. Then rotate the filter counter clockwise to release it from the filter head.

Step 3: Pull out the filter. Note that a small amount of water may drip after you remove the filter. This is normal.

Step 4: Get your replacement filter and remove from the packaging. Align the filter correctly and insert the filter into the filter head. Turn the filter clockwise 90°.

Step 5: Push the entire filter back into the bracket. Then push the cover up and click into place.

Step 7: Finally dispense some water from your water dispenser to flush your filter.

Step 8: Once your fridge water filter is installed, you can once again enjoy fresh, clean drinking water.
